I’m Sophie Devonshire, CEO of The Marketing Society.

I’m also a bestselling author and a keynote speaker and event host. (You can download my bio in word here or pdf and headshots here).

Sharing the stories of success and the experience of others can be a fantastic shortcut for those who want to go further and move faster. I love working with people to energise, inspire, and to speed up their journey to be great leaders.

I believe business can be (and should be) a positive force in the world, and I really enjoy connecting up leaders who act with velocity; moving at pace and in the right direction.

Speaker, Facilitator, Conference Host

I’ve been a keynote speaker, workshop facilitator and host for conferences and  a wide variety of business events across the world.

I am regularly booked as a host for conferences or events, including as an energising panel host or interviewing senior leaders on stage.

Executive teams who are looking to work better together, and to get the pace right in a fast-moving world often ask me to facilitate half-day or full-day workshops with them.

Every session or speech is carefully tailored and always include practical, actionable tips so the audiences leave inspired, energised and ready to act.

I’m delighted to get consistently positive feedback from those who book me to speak. If you’re looking for a female speaker who brings energy and expertise to leadership conversations, let’s talk.

"Sophie was a great host for our company conference. Her natural inquisitive style was great in eliciting exactly what we were looking for. Sophie delivered a brilliant story-telling session, energising the 150+ people in the room, matching the theme with some practical steps and thought provoking calls to action."
Kieren Mander, Human Resources Director, Travelopia

My first book was an Amazon No.1 Bestseller. ‘Superfast: Lead at Speed’  shared the insights from 100 successful business leaders on how to set the right pace in a rapidly-changing and volatile world. It was shortlisted for Book of The Year at the Business Book Awards.

If your business feels like it’s moving at a turtle’s pace, try SUPERFAST — it will bring you up to speed.” – Daniel Pink, author of DRIVE

LoveWork: The Seven Steps to Thrive at Work, is my most recent book. It was written in partnership with leadership performance coach Ben Renshaw and outlines the secrets of how to discover or recover a better relationship with work.

“Follow the LoveWork code to unlock your potential and exceed expectations at work.” John Holland-Kaye, CEO Heathrow

BUsiness Leader, Entrepreneur, CONNECTOR

I’ve worked in – and with- all kinds of organisations across my career, from huge multinationals to startups and high-growth scale-ups.

My background in brand management for industry giants like Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola was followed by consultancy and agency experience with Interbrand in London and with Leo Burnett in Dubai. I then founded, built, and sold my own award-winning e-commerce start-up, before heading up a brand and leadership consultancy and working as an advisor to the C-suite.

In 2020 I was appointed as Chief Executive of The Marketing Society, the international community of marketing leaders, founded in 1959 and now with hubs in London, Scotland, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE and New York.

I’m a member of The Marketing Society (of course), The Marketing Group of Great Britain, WACL (Women in Advertising and Communications Leadership), Soho House and a companion member of The Chartered Management Institute.

I believe in shaping and supporting a fairer, more inclusive world. And I also believe that communities, networks and collaboration all help speed up success – as well as helping business be more positive, more interesting and more enjoyable.

I love connecting people – with each other and with ideas that can help.
